We’ve all had hard days. We often wake up and wish we were farther along than we find ourselves to be, wish the road ahead looked smoother, wish for even a few moments to relax.
The ouster of incumbent President Joe Biden from the Democratic Party ticket by the party’s overlords — the Obamas, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and others — may not have seemed kind, but power is power. Winning is winning. And what must be done, must be done.

This particular gathering focuses on media, perhaps as in part responsible for our current shameful ugliness, as well as on ways media might contribute toward needed healing. My first premise is that our world is full of noble, courageous, journalists ready to give their lives to honor truth-telling for the sake of a better world. I described three areas of international war or conflict: Russia-Ukraine. Hamas-Israel. and Tensions over Taiwan and the South China Sea.I explained that each of the three are different. Russian-Ukraine is “internecine,” an “in-family” fight. All are Orthodox and Slavs. Hamas-Israel is civilizational between two world communities with religious ties: Western “Judeo-Christian” civilization, and Islamic civilization. The Pacific conflict has two cultures and two roots. Asian culture versus Western Culture, and Religious culture versus Marxist culture.I suggested that this level and intensity of war and conflict is greater than any of us have lived through in our lifetime.
